Once again, the RARE Foundation is sponsoring its student writing competition in partnership with the Detroit News Newspapers in Education. A 20-page supplement and comprehensive teacher guide can be ordered for your classroom through www.dnie.com

Students in grades 3-8 may submit an essay, poem or any other type of creative writing during any month throughout the school year. $100 cash awards made to the best entries each month. $250 cash awards will be made at the end of the school year to the best overall work from both Primary and Middle School entries. Winning work will also be published on the RARE website and in next year's DNIE Supplement.
